Are you an adult looking to retrain, upskill or get help into work?

Stockport College boasts a wide selection of Higher Education, Access to HE, T Levels, and apprenticeships for adults to enhance your skills and knowledge – and there are still places available for a January 2024 start.

Part of the Trafford College Group, the college aims to provide an inclusive educational offer that serves the needs of our local community and to provide a career-focused curriculum that meets the skills needs of businesses across the region.

Even better, it recently completed its £25 million main-campus redevelopment programme, ensuring all courses have the very highest standards of accommodation and resources.

You can find out for yourself by picking up the new Adult Course Guide or visiting the adult-courses open and enrolment event at Stockport College on Thursday, January 11, from 4.30pm to 7pm.

Principal & CEO James Scott said: “Come and visit on our open day, speak to our colleagues, and have a look around our facilities.

“We will make your experience an incredibly welcome one, and we will provide you with all the information you need to make those all-important decisions on the next steps in your education and career journey.”

Short courses

If you’re looking to learn a new hobby, acquire a new skill or take that first step in training for a new career, Stockport College’s shorts courses are the best place to start.

Many are available for funding support so you can get started for free or for just a small fee.

Professional courses

If you want to take that next step within your current career, the college’s range of Continuing Professional Development courses will equip you with the confidence and knowledge to succeed.

Higher Education

The Higher Education provision focuses on transforming lives for the better and making a real difference, ensuring it remains an accessible offer that is community-focused and supports local aspirations.

The courses have been co-created with employers, ensuring students are equipped with the skills to progress.

Skills for jobs

If you are seeking to re-enter the job market, Stockport College collaborates with Jobcentre Plus and employers across Greater Manchester to conduct one- or two-week employability courses throughout the year.

The college’s Skills Shop offers a range of services across many industry sectors, including training, skills development and career advice.

Apprenticeships

You can study an apprenticeship at any age and level, depending on your skills and experience.

Offering a wide range of roles within different industries, an apprenticeship offers one-to-one learning with a work-based tutor, on-the-job training and excellent career progression.
