Steelite International has acquired Utopia, a British tableware and glassware supplier, for an undisclosed price.

The acquisition gives Steelite access to Utopia’s product lines, brands, centralized distribution center and state-of-the-art interior design, and expands its international presence.

Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Chesterfield, UK, Utopia offers a wide range of tableware, glassware and accessories designed specifically for the hospitality and branded glass markets.

Steelite and Utopia began a commercial partnership in 2023, when Steelite became the exclusive distributor of Utopia and Pasabahce products in the United States.

Steelite has bought the company from its founder and CEO Mark Rammell and his family.

Mark Rammell stated that Steelite shares his vision for growth and is committed to the same core values.

He said: “This acquisition puts our business in great hands and ensures continued success, growth and innovation. Together, the two companies can build on our strong foundation to achieve even greater things for our valued customers.”

John Miles, president and CEO of Steelite International, noted that Rammell and his team had built the company with “great products, people and culture.”

He added: “We strongly believe that Utopia is the perfect addition to Steelite. In addition, the Utopia store is proof of our deep commitment and belief in the continued opportunities of the global restaurant industry.

“This combination provides our customers and end users with an enhanced selection of innovative products and the excellent service that has become synonymous with both companies.”

Steelite is principally owned by Arbor Investments, a specialist private equity firm committed to acquiring top companies in the food, beverage and related industries.

Arbor Investments acquired Steelite in December 2019 and has since made significant investments to drive the company’s growth through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.

The purchase of Utopia is Steelite’s seventh purchase under Arbor ownership.

Based in Youngstown, Ohio, Steelite distributes its products to more than 30,000 end-user locations in 140 countries. The company has manufacturing facilities in Stoke-On-Trent, UK, Manlius, New York, and Tijuana, Mexico, with a combined footprint of over 600,000 square feet. In addition, Steelite procures products from 17 different countries.
