South Facing Festival comes to London with one of the summer’s most exciting lineups. The festival is a series of outdoor concerts at the legendary Crystal Palace Bowl arena starting on July 26th and ending on August 11th.

The line-up is stacked with stars as well as one of the decade’s classic hip-hop lineups with The Roots, The Pharcyde and De La Soul. Grace Jones, Jess Glynne and loads of other stars also headline. Tickets are still available on TicketMaster and Kaboodle with prices starting around just over £40 for most events.

The Crystal Palace Bowl is no stranger to big names with performances over the years from Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Elton John, Lou Reed, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Gil Scott Heron, Curtis Mayfield, The Cure, The Beach Boys, The Sex Pistols and loading more.

Lineups and tickets

Love Motion – Grace Jones, Róisín Murphy and more, 26 July

Kicking off the first event is a brand new disco, soul and electronic all-day game called Love Motion on July 26th. Pop culture icon Grace Jones will take the stage together with a star line-up. Legendary DJ group Horse meat disco also joins the party on the side Roisin Murphy, the Irish singer and dance pop star. Many more acts will also be announced.

Future Islands, July 27

American synth-pop band Islands of the future will play at South Facing on July 27th. They will be supported by Baxter Drury, Julie Byrne, The golden dregs, Circe and John. The event follows the release of Future Island’s seventh album, ‘People Who Are’t There Anymore’. The band has done over 1,500 shows and has become famous with over 2.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Unruly Fest – Popcaan, July 28

The Roots De La Soul, The Pharcyde and more, August 1

In what they call the classic hip-hop lineup of the decade The roots will headline the Crystal Palace Bowl on August 1. This is their first UK headline show in six years and they will be supported by a powerful line-up of From the Soul and The Pharcyde – all legends from the 90s hip-hop scene in the USA. More special guests have yet to be announced for this show.

Cloud X Festival – Ghetts, Skrapz, Sam Tompkins, Priya Ragu, August 2nd

Cloud X Festival is coming to the Crystal Palace Bowl with a serious multi-genre lineup this year. This included dirt MC Ghett’s rising singer-songwriter Sam TompkinsLondon soul artist I’m KarisBritish rapper Scratchsinger & Fred Again collaborator BerwynLondon DJ royalty Izzy Bossyand Funky House pioneers Crazy cousins.

Major League DJz: Balcony Mix London, August 3rd

Balcony Mix London will be a huge outdoor show at the Crystal Palace Bowl with Major League DJz heading. They will be supported by Oscar Mbo, Perhaps, Andre Power, Nicky Summers B2B Charisse C and Skyla Tylaa plus more to be announced. Hailing from South Africa, Major League DJz are trailblazers in bringing Ampiano to the world. They have worked with Major Lazer, Diplo, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Black Coffee, Abidoza and more.

Yussef Dayes presents: Summer Dayes, August 4

In a brand new show, Yussef Dayes will take to the stage on Sunday 4th August for a day of incredible live music. There will also be West Indian food offerings, jelly coconuts and yoga classes with Dave Dayes (Yussef’s dad), all happening in and around the venue’s natural outdoor amphitheater.

Jess Glynne + Cian Ducrot, August 9

Jess Glynne will be bringing all their hits to the outdoor show at the Crystal Palace bowl on Friday 9th August. She will be supported by her special guest Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot. Jess Glynne is the first British female solo artist to have a seventh number one on the UK Singles Chart. She has also won a Grammy, three Ivor Novello nominations and nine Brit Award nominations, not to mention 1.2 billion streams.

Damian Marley + Steel Pulse + Kabaka Pyramid and more, August 10

Rhythm and soul will take over the Crystal Palace bowl on August 10 as a reggae powerhouse Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley is set to execute. He will be next doorSteel pulse, Pyramid Tower, Romain Virgoand Channel One sound system.

The original festival, August 11

With acts yet to be announced, the Originals Festival returns to the Crystal Palace Bowl this year. Get ready for another epic gathering and enjoy a curated electrifying lineup featuring the crème de la crème of British DJs and artists, ready to unleash infectious house beats that will keep you moving.
