What a few months it’s been for Sophie Ellis-Bextoreh? Back at the top of the charts again with the great-chorus-ever contender Murder On The Dancefloor thanks in large part to that ending in Saltburn (and a sprinkling of ‘TikTok’), and now a giant rave booked in for the springtime.

Come April 13you’ll be able to see her live at the giant Drumsheds, as Sophie Ellis-Bextor makes up a giant announcement for the ‘False Idols’ night at the 15,000 capacity venue. Probably almost as big as the mansion in Saltburn. Probably.

YOU! BETTER NOT! KILL! THE! GROVE!

‘False Idols’ at Drumsheds

Okay, you’ll all be watching SEB do her thing in the main slot, but there’s a hell of a lot more that the crowds will be turning up in swathes for.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor takes headlining duty with support from Princess Superstarwho has also enjoyed a resurgence through the Saltburn internet rabbit hole through her song Perfect. Nostalgia is also on the menu with a performance from Sonicwho also hit the top of the charts with It Feels So Good in 2000.

Other highlights include performances from Drag Race UK superstar Bimini; a donk and techno set from horsegiirL; hard-house beats from ABSOLUTE; a set from frequent Berghain performer BASHKKA, and many more. Plus, as always, revellers at ‘False Idols’ can expect the full dance squad from Lawless Agency and Little Gay Brother to keep the vibes of the night sky-high.

‘False Idols’ comes from a trio of organisers that everyone entrenched in the London dance music scene are likely to know in Broadwick Live (of Printworks and Field Day fame), Little Gay Brotherand Percolate. Last time out in Drumsheds, the ‘False Idols’ event was headlined by Sugababes (plus Eliza Rose, Ross From Friends, SHYGIRL, and more), so they’ve got previous for putting on a lively night out.

If you’d told me a year ago that in 2024, I’d be witnessing Murder On The Dancefloor live in the former Tottenham IKEA building, I’d have asked you step away from the DeLorean. Iconic, simply iconic.

‘False Idols’ hitting Drumsheds on April 13, 2024. You can find out more and get your tickets here.
