A recent social media post has fans anticipating what appears to be an imminent trailer release Sonic 3.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 will hit theaters this December following Paramount’s previous two films featuring SEGA’s beloved video game characters.
Not much is known about it yet Sonic 3, except it features Sonic’s iconic foil, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Jim Carrey returns after a break from acting to reprise his role as Dr. Eggman. There has been no publicly released video footage of the threequel apart from revealing the logo that appeared online in early February 2024.

The Sonic 3 trailer is getting a big update
Paramount may have accidentally leaked while fans can expect a Sonic 3 trailer is released.
In a now-deleted comment reply on Paramount Mexico’s official TikTok account, Paramount hinted Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer coming “very soon.”
This comes just weeks after CinemaCon 2024 attendees got to see the film (including Keanu Reeves’ Shadow the Hedgehog).
The CinemaCon footage showed more than just the trailer, offering an extended look at the upcoming trilogy, following Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik (aka Eggman) as he and his team of agents search for the series’ titular blue blur.
Carrey’s Sonic the villain is seen in the footage completely deranged, allied with the mysterious Shadow the Hedgehog.
The teaser then opens with a battle between the movie’s pen-adorned big bad and Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, before ending with a Shadow vs. Sonic showdown in the New York skyline.
The ongoing happy relationship between Sonic and his friends was cited as a highlight of the shoot, with Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Idris Elba reprising their roles as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.
At the time, Shadow’s voice was still under wraps, so CinemaCon attendees didn’t get to hear what the new character sounded like; however, since Matrix star Keanu Reeves has been cast in the role.
When is the Sonic 3 trailer coming out?
Although Paramount didn’t reveal when exactly Sonic 3 trailer debut, its use “very soon” could be a hint as to when fans will be introduced to the triangle.
Paramount has two summer blockbusters gearing up for release If (May 17) and A Quiet Place: The First Day (June 28), so if Paramount prepared a Sonic 3 trailer, the studio would be wise to get it out before the summer schedule.
Meanwhile Quiet place might be a bigger name than John Krasinski’s new imaginary friend-based comedy, If feels like the perfect movie to combine potential Sonic the Hedgehog 3 with trailer.
It’s rare these days that trailers are released exclusively in conjunction with another movie, usually online days before the big release.
Because of this, it seems likely that a Sonic 3 a trailer may be coming soon, sometime before Friday, May 17th.
Paramount has been making a habit of showing new trailers on Thursdays lately Transformers One will release its first look on Thursday, April 18.
So while it’s not a guarantee, a Sonic 3 a trailer release on Thursday, May 16 could make sense.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20th.
