Six Company, the Scottish company behind Six by Nico restaurants, has announced ambitious development and investment plans for Edinburgh. These plans include the introduction of Nico’s Somewhere.
Managing director and founder Nico Simeone has confirmed plans for two new openings in Edinburgh and a £2m investment in the city’s restaurant scene. This investment includes the establishment of a new Six by Nico restaurant in the capital’s West End, as well as the launch of Nico Edinburgh’s Somewhere. This immersive cocktail venue aims to redefine the traditional bar experience by combining multi-sensory elements, mixology and storytelling.
After six successful years in the Scottish capital and 16 locations across the UK and Ireland since 2017, the brand is entering a new phase with a new look for its Edinburgh customers. Six by Nico Edinburgh West End offers guests the familiar experience they know and love in an elegant setting that complements all the features of their product. The brand’s existing Six by Nico location on Hanover Street continues to serve guests, offering two urban locations for diners. Six by Nico Edinburgh West End is due to open on Queensferry Street in June 2024.
Another investment in Scotland’s capital will bring a new cocktail tasting experience to Edinburgh’s West End. Somewhere by Nico Edinburgh is an innovative concept that aims to reshape the traditional bar and cocktail experience by seamlessly combining storytelling, multi-sensory mixology and immersive experiences. Following the successful launch of their first site delivered in Glasgow in January 2024, inspired by Nico’s Six, Nico Edinburgh’s Somewhere is following suit. Every six weeks, it curates a six-stage cocktail experience inspired by the themed world, transforming the venue into Somewhere again.
At the heart of the experience is storytelling, where guests immerse themselves as adventurers, while mixologists take on the role of storyteller, weaving enhanced narratives into each drink. The mystical interior transports guests to a dreamlike realm and engages all the senses during a carefully planned two-hour cocktail journey priced at £65 per person. Somewhere by Nico Edinburgh will open in early June 2024 and will be conveniently located next to the new Six by Nico Edinburgh West End on Queensferry Street, in the former Foundry 39 building on Queensferry Rd, Edinburgh.

The expansion into the Six by Nico Edinburgh West End and Somewhere by Nico Edinburgh projects will create around 60 new jobs.
