You can never have too much Shakespeare – especially not in London. But somehow the upcoming version of Macbeth feels a little different; even something special.

The saga of the disgraced King of Scotland hits the stage on October 1, 2024 and will run until December 14, 2024, in a unique limited run this year. The production will be held at the Harold Pinter Theater in South West London and stars one of TV’s most prestigious Scottish actors of all time: David Tennant.

Tennant is of course best known for playing The Doctor in the BBC science fiction show Doctor Who. In addition to that, he has appeared in countless franchises, including Harry Potter, Good Omens, Jessica Jones, and more.

Well, now he’s taking to the stage as the titular Shakespearean anti-hero in a powerful ten-week run. During the production, he will play seven shows a week, Monday through Saturday, with a weekend matinee.

The psychological drama has already had a stint at the Donmar Warehouse, and it’s now taking shape at the Harold Pinter Theatre, located next to Piccadilly Circus.

In addition, Macbeth is directed by Olivier Award-winning director Max Webster. He is, of course, best known for directing Life of Pi.
