A-list couple Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were spotted in leafy south west London over the weekend, enjoying the sunshine and some top grub at one of the capital’s best restaurants.

According to The Daily Mail, the stars were seen dining at Michelin-starred restaurant Trinity in the heart of Clapham Old Town. The La La Land actor is reportedly in the UK shooting new sci-fi film Project Hail Mary, where he plays a science teacher turned astronaut.

This is not the first time the restaurant has been known to host a celebrity or two; apparently, it’s a popular haunt amongst royalty, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spotted dining at Trinity on multiple occasions, as well as Gosling’s Barbie co-star Margot Robbie. Perhaps she tipped off?

To be fair, the pair have chosen well. Trinity is a modern European restaurant run by chef-patron Adam Byatt who’s known for his classic-meets-contemporary cooking using ultra-seasonal ingredients. The restaurant won a Michelin star in 2016 which it has held ever since, with the Guide hailing the restaurant as one ‘you can’t help but fall in love with’.

It serves an a la carte of four courses – priced at £70 for lunch and £120 for dinner – which changes monthly with the seasons. At the time of writing, examples of dishes on the menu include Blue Belly prawns with fennel, datterini tomato and Bouillabaisse for first course, hand-cut strozzapreti with Scottish girolles, anchovy and parmesan for second course, Roast English duck with apricot and Earl Grey for third course, and a finale of Clapham Honey souffle with beeswax ice cream. It’s possible to add an extra cheese course for a £10 supplement.

The news comes after Taylor Swift was spotted leaving glamorous Notting Hill restaurant Casa Cruz earlier this year. And if you’re keen to hear more about new celebrity restaurant openings, Jeremy Clarkson has just launched his Cotswolds pub and we’ve got all the juicy details.
