Despite reports to the contrary, Rockstar Games is digging into its position GTA 6n previously announced release window.
Rockstar Games’ beloved open-world series makes its triumphant return with its upcoming sixth release. However, when exactly the game will see the light of day has not yet been officially revealed.
Instead, all fans know is what they were given at the end of the game’s debut trailer (which was released over a year ago at this point), in the murky 2025 release window.
Rockstar seems confident in GTA 6 release
According to a new release from Rockstar Games, the gaming giant is still confident GTA 6 release window.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted a new LinkedIn post from Rockstar Games Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist Georgio Jankowski, in which the employee appeared to hint that GTA 6 is still planned for 2025.
While promoting open jobs at the studio, Jankowski mentioned that 2025 is “design will be one of the most exciting years” In Rockstar History:
“As 2025 rolls around and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting years ahead here at Rockstar, there couldn’t be a better time to take a look at our open positions and consider applying.”
Jankowski’s post seems to indicate that (publicly at least) the game is still on track to beat this year. This is despite reports suggesting that GTA could have fallen to 2026.
For months, Rockstar itself has continued to confirm GTA 62025 release date, but – outside of the game’s debut trailer – it’s never directly specified that this is the year. In August 2024, sources close to the fame revealed that it still is “strictly (targeting) autumn 2025”, but noted that the possibility of a delay still exists.
Is GTA 6 coming out in 2025?
Now that the calendar has been turned, the eyes of the gaming industry are even more closely trained GTA 6 and its exact publication date.
Rockstar’s latest open-world game is sure to make a huge splash whenever it drops, which means competing developers and publishers will likely be sitting with bated breath to see when Grand Theft Auto-sized bomb drops.
In Rockstar’s financials, the studio has claimed that 2025 is the year GTA 6saying it without actually saying it.
The gaming giant has long predicted that 2025 will be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) years in the company’s history, and shareholders are told in a 2024 memo “just over $7 billion in net reserves” for the coming fiscal year:
“Right now, that number is just over $7 billion in net bookings for the year and taking into account the typical changes in our forecasting process. And that number is still a huge increase this year. And our pipeline is groundbreaking for next year and beyond, and our teams are making great progress in game development.”
Since that memo, Rockstar Games brass, along with its parent company Take Two, have continued to promote this $7 billion number. If they continue to have this level of confidence, it seems likely that the game will be released in 2025.
Assuming, however, that another trailer is coming (something that violates a GTA franchise record), perhaps fans will learn more about the details of the release soon – especially if it’s still in the next 12 months.
