Robyn Brown’s obsession with control destroys everyone’s life (even her own)

Sister wives season 19 should hit the air in August 2024, but Robyn Brown’s control of the Brown family has created so much tension over the years that it likely shares many of the same concerns. Throughout the run sister wives, Robyn’s marriage to Kody Brown has been the most anxiety-inducing part of the show for viewers and the Brown family. Kody’s previous marriages to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown lasted the better part of thirty years, but after years of neglect and abuse by Kody, each of his other wives left their large families.

As Robyn sought plural marriage, when she found herself with Kody, he quickly became the center of her world. Robyn and Kody’s relationship was the most important to him, though he refused to grant it to his other wives, his family, or even himself. As Robyn and Kody grew closer, she made sacrifices elsewhere in her life to give him the best life possible. Despite knowing she had Kody to fall back on, Robyn still wanted more of his time and attention, even as she forced him to continue seeing his other wives whenever possible.

Robyn must control everything related to the Brown family

Robyn joined the family as Kody’s newest wife in 2014, his need to control everything that happened in the family was immediate. The Sister wives the star got Kody to legally divorce Meri to allow her to be Kody’s only legal wife quickly, and from then on she could make big decisions for the Brownies. With the power in the family, Robyn was quick to convince everyone that she was doing what was in their best interest, even if it was only in her own best interest.

Robyn’s behavior hasn’t changed in the past decade

Although Robyn quickly settled into her new role as Kody’s youngest and only legal wife, many assumed that once he was more comfortable with the whole family, things would calm down. Instead, Robyn’s need to control the family grew as her time with the family continued. When Kody and Robyn had children of their own, his need to keep Kody around and have him included and invited was evident, forcing him to sacrifice the other marriages he was in, showing his other wives that they were less important.

Robyn isn’t even happy with herself anymore

Meanwhile Robyn may have gotten everything she wanted from her marriage to Kody, while she finds herself a loving husband who cares for their biological children as well as her children from her first marriage, she has also effectively destroyed the extended family she so desperately wanted. Robyn’s behavior has been so overwhelming and arrogant that she’s not even happy with herself anymore. Instead of getting everything he wanted, he’s kept his family under such tight, tight, tight control that there’s flexibility among the rest of him.
