His appointment as hotel manager at the Savoy comes ahead of the opening of a new restaurant and retail space at the iconic London hotel.

Rob Van Eyck is set to join London’s The Savoy as the new Hotel Director from January 2025.

He replaces Russell Platt, who has left The Savoy to take up the role of general manager at Cadogan, the Belmond Hotel in Chelsea.

Rob Van Eyck joins The Savoy from The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte hotel in Edinburgh, where he has been manager for the past three years. During his tenure, the property earned two prestigious Michelin keys.

Originally from the Netherlands, Rob Van Eyck graduated from The Hague Hotel School and has built an impressive career in the hospitality industry. He has previously worked in prestigious hotels such as the Sheraton in Edinburgh and the Marriott in Rotterdam.

Franck Arnold, Savoy’s Regional Vice President and General Manager, said, “Savoy is excited to work with such an experienced hotelier in the luxury space, bringing his extensive expertise and best understanding of customer needs.”

Renovations of the Savoy Rooms and Suites began in August 2024, and the new look is expected to be unveiled in August 2025.

Van Eyck said: “The Savoy has enchanted guests for over 135 years, so it is a real privilege to join Franck and my new colleagues in developing the future legacy of this iconic hotel.

“I share the Savoy’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the best guest experience and am excited to begin my role at a time of such exciting change.”
