Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is coming, but release details (ie release date or new items) remain under wraps.
Chapter 6 of the beloved multiplayer game launched in early December (with a few technical hiccups), bringing with it an exciting new coat of paint rooted in Japanese mythology. It included many new additions to the game, such as the Shogun’s Arena boss area, Godzilla-themed skins, and parkour-inspired movement features.
This new season of content will be even more interesting with the January 31st update Fortnite ANDbringing back (again) version Battle Royale game mode as fans remember it from its early days.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is likely to be released in February
Although a specific release date Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 has yet to be officially announced, fans think they will find out when the latest content pack will see the light of day.
As has been the case for years, those who want to see when the new Fortnite season drop should search the game’s current Battle Pass. As part of seasonal Battle Pass offerings, a timer is often offered, usually indicating when the next season begins.
The Season 1 Battle Pass ends on Friday, February 21st at 2:00 AM ET, which likely means that Season 2 will begin soon after.
This lines up with reports suggesting where Season 2 is in development. Known at the beginning of January Fortnite leaker HypeX announced that Season 2 was in active playtesting.
Typically, seasonal releases come after several hours of downtime Fortnite servers. While the Season 1 Battle Pass may expire at 2:00 a.m. on February 21st, Season 2 will likely not be released until later (usually between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. ET on the same day).
The second season is rumored to introduce a redesigned chainsaw weapon
After first being introduced in Chapter 3, Season 3, in the upcoming second season of Chapter 6, the beloved Chainsaw weapon is getting a makeover.
The weapon has been a part of the game for many years and has functioned largely the same since its release. Players can shoot large saws into the ground and roll them towards the enemy on the battlefield. It was vaulted in Chapter 3, Season 4.
However, this may change in Chapter 6, Season 2. Insider HypeX posted that they had heard that weapon gameplay changes are coming, but did not reveal the exact details of that change.
Guy Fortnite leaker Blortzen confirmed this rumor and claimed that the update will include a new developer plugin called “Spikybird.” What exactly that means remains to be seen, but changes are coming.
Some speculated that it could include the introduction of a charged shot mode for the weapon, allowing players to bring the saw to life multiple times before its blades unleash devastating damage.
A new game mode may be in the works
Rumors are swirling about a possible new game mode Fortnite in Chapter 6, Season 2.
Details of this new space have yet to be officially announced; however, various data mining found evidence that something big is coming with the release of Season 2.
Fans have named this new mode “Vehicle Royale” and various leaks have found information Fortniten back for vehicle-themed products. This has included a “blue team vehicle” (via X’s Loolo), which apparently suggests that this could be a team-based vehicular battle mode that resembles something Twisted Metal franchise.
This could open up a whole new style of play for the long-running multiplayer game, which makes it possible Mad Max-style battles are played on the game’s iconic island.
The competition grows in the multiplayer mode, which has e.g Marvel’s Rivals Vehicle Royale (whose first season of content only recently debuted) could help pick up steam. Fortnite win back lapsed players from other games on the market.
What skins will be released in Chapter 6 Season 2?
Certain skins coming Fortnite‘s latest season is still a mystery, but fans can rest assured that something exciting is coming (because it almost always does).
A number of skin collaboration projects have allegedly leaked in recent months, with at least some of them possibly making their way to the market in Chapter 6, Season 2.
Leaker Shiina posted a post in November 2024 sharing several themed skins that are said to be coming Fortnite at some point in the future. These included One Punch Man, Agent 47 ( Hitman franchise), Post Malone, BorderlandsThe Riddler and the Black Mask.
With the drop of Japanese-themed content in Chapter 6, a One Punch Man cover would seem like a natural fit for what the game currently offers fans.
