Bristol PrideAlamy

Bristol Pride

On Saturday 13 July, Bristol comes alive for Pride Day. The Human League are headlining the main stage with support from electronica duo Ladytron and Steps’ Claire Richards. There are many other areas to explore, including a Family Area, Circus Tent and Dance Performance Stage – you can even rave the afternoon away at a silent disco or unwind in the wellbeing area. While the Pride parade and main stages are on for one day, Pride in Bristol is a three-week celebration. During this time, many exciting activities and events are happening across the city, including Drag Bingo nights, LGBTQ+ tours, and one-off performances.

Pride Cymru

The volunteer-led charity Pride Cymru is putting on a colourful weekend this summer, campaigning for LGBTQ+ equality and acceptance and having lots of fun in the process. Pixie Perez and Dr Bev headline the main stage on Saturday, hosted by figures such as Big Brother‘s Jenkin. While a few hundred LGBTQ+ supporters marched through the streets of Cardiff in 1985, the march now attracts thousands of Queer participants and swarms of supporters – cheer along after some hearty grub from the dozens of market stalls.

Northern Pride

Newcastle is known for its nightlife year-round, but, once a year, the city becomes a kaleidoscopic hub of activity for Northern Pride. Fat Tony and Little Fix are some of the DJs taking to the decks in the festival area, while many more take to the stage for the most colourful of celebrations. Before an afternoon of dancing, thousands of people are expected to join the march through the city towards the Rainbow Village.
