The awesome Mega Pinsir is one of the best Bug-type creatures in Pokémon Go. If you’re considering adding it to your team, here are the best moves you can teach it for PvP and raids.

Mega Pinsir was introduced to the franchise with the main titles Pokemon X & Y, giving classic Pinsir not only a cooler look, but also a much-needed secondary typing: flying.

This Mega Evolution came to Pokemon Go almost a year ago, and players will now have the chance to collect tons of Mega Pinsir energy through a field research task for Bug Out events.

If you succeed, here are the best Mega Pinsir movesets you can use for PvP and Raid battles in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Mega Pinsir all moves

The creepy Mega Pinsir has a total of three quick moves and seven charged moves in Pokemon Go, giving him a decent number of options to choose from. Here’s his full move:

Mega Pinsir’s quick moves

  • Fury Cutter (Bug/STAB)
  • Bug bite (Bug/STAB)
  • Rock Smash (Fight)

Mega Pinsir Charged Moves

  • Vice grip (normal)
  • Scissors X (Bug/STAB)
  • Melee (combat)
  • Superpower (Combat)
  • Submission (Combat/Elite TM)
  • Frustration (Normal/Shadow Pokemon)
  • Return (Normal/Refined Pokemon)

Pokemon Go Mega Pinsir, the best PvP move

The best Mega Pinsir Moveset for PvP consists of Fury Cutter as a quick move and X-Scissor as a charged move.

Since Mega Pinsir does not have the Fighting type, it is not worth considering Rock Smash as a fast move. Instead, you can choose Fury Cutter or Bug Bite, which are very similar. However, the former is easier to avoid and provides a quick energy charge.

Although it has many charged moves, the only one worth having is X-Scissors, as it is powerful, benefits from STAB, and can act as bait for shields.

If you can afford a secondary move, go to Close Combat for more coverage. In addition, it is quite strong.

Pokemon Go Mega Pinsir, Best Raid Set

The best Pokémon Go raid move for Mega Pinsir is Bug Bite as a quick move and X-Scissors as a charged move.

Again, the differences between Bug Bite and Fury Cutter are very small, but here you can choose Bug Bite for higher damage per second.

As your only Bug-type move, choose X-Scissors as your charged move to take advantage of the extra STAB. This combo will easily destroy anything with a bug weakness.
