The high street pizza chain has opened its latest restaurant at The ICC, Birmingham.

PizzaExpress returns to Birmingham with live music shows and launches its first record store outside of London at the ICC.

ICC’s new PizzaExpress is the first record store outside of London and will feature vinyl and CDs from PX Records artists. Customers can purchase records from British soul outfit Mamas Gun, keyboardist Matt Johnson (Jamiroquai) and British singer-songwriter Jack Garratt, all recorded at PizzaExpress Live locations.

PizzaExpress Birmingham ICC is located in the city’s cultural district with arenas, restaurants, bars and attractions. PizzaExpress Birmingham ICC offers views of the city’s famous canals and outdoor terrace dining. The bespoke interior features unique gold artwork by Italian designer Enzo Apicella, who collaborated with founder Peter Boizot on the chain’s iconic designs.

PizzaExpress ICC CEO Ilham Tahmazov commented: “Our pizzeria is a stylish new environment for locals to enjoy their PizzaExpress favourites. In a city known for its late 60s heavy metal, as we approach our 60th anniversary next year, it seems right to celebrate our connection to live music with our own record store, live thanks to the music and our delicious menu, the ingredients for a lunch break with family, friends or a guaranteed good night.

The ICC launch will be PizzaExpress’ third site in Birmingham and will boost the local economy by creating 20 new jobs and career opportunities for the community.
