After eight years with the Ottolenghi group, Elaine Goad takes on the role of head chef at Nopi restaurant, a restaurant located in the lively Soho area of London.

Elaine Goad, who spearheaded the launch of Ottolenghi Chelsea in 2021 as head chef, is now bringing her expertise to Nop, which means a significant change in the Ottolenghi Group.

In 2015, Elaine Goad joined the Ottolenghi group as a kitchen porter because she wanted to “start from the bottom, because if I ever wanted to run a business, I would know what it would be like to be a KP or a sous chef”.

As Nop’s pioneering female executive chef, Elaine Goad presents an intriguing menu inspired by her Filipino roots and highlighting the diverse flavors of Southeast Asia. Expect innovative dishes such as roasted hip cap with gochujang and coffee butter, coconut brittle and black tea chocolate ganache with whiskey caramel that invite diners on a culinary journey through vibrant and intriguing flavors.

Yotam Ottolenghi said: “Elaine has experienced a huge rise at Ottolenghi, from kitchen porter to chef de cuisine, from salad chef to head chef.

“It’s fair to assume that all his years of work have given him an incredible drive which, combined with great talent, has made him the exceptional chef he is today. We’re so excited to see what he does at Nop – I’m sure the menu will thrive under his guidance.

Nopi debuted in 2011 as Yotam Ottolenghi’s first “adult” restaurant, offering a sophisticated dining experience centered on shared plates inspired by the rich culinary tapestry of the Mediterranean, Middle East and Asia.
