Summary

This Management Information data release presents the summed Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) of jobs advertised by, or on behalf of General Practices using the NHS Jobs platform.

Data are presented in Excel tables by National Workforce Data (NWD) Staff Group, and aggregated to show summed Full Time Equivalent (FTE) at National level and by NHS England Region and Integrated Care Board (ICB) footprints. Within the data file accompanying this release users can find pivoted data, along with the raw data which has been used to generate them. This data does not contain all the fields received in the raw data, only those used in the generation of the table and others which we have quality assured for completeness and added to the data to allow for aggregation to regional tables. Individual practice details are purposefully withheld, this is discussed further in the Data Quality section.

The sub-national groupings are for the purpose of reporting only, and representing roles advertised within that geographical footprint, conforming to nationally defined boundaries of the location of the practice. They do not represent activity co-ordinated by the Region or ICB. Data are not available at Job Role level as this field is not available in the raw data, as such – Direct Patient Care staff are not directly identifiable.

We encourage users to read the supporting information included in this release to aid their understanding of the data. Further information around methodology and reliability and be found in the Methodology and Data Quality pages.

We are always working to improve our publications to ensure content is useful and relevant to users. We would welcome any feedback on these new data, either on their usefulness or ways in which the data have been used. Please contact us at (email protected).
