It’s officially summer and Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa, in the heart of the enchanting New Forest, has opened its stylish alfresco pop-up bar and kitchen, The Neigh Bar
Now open until the end of September, The Neigh Bar’s converted vintage horsebox, inspired by the native wild ponies of the New Forest National Park, serves summer cocktails and soft, fluffy breads while you soak up the sun in the hotel’s beautiful grounds.
Cocktails are suitable for the season with a classic Pimm’s seasonal fruits, fresh garden mint and lemonade and spices Spicy and Ginger Cosmos. For those looking for a chilled glass of wine, local vineyards are represented, including Hattingley Valley Sparkling Wine Classic Reserve and that of the Uusi Metsä A lovely Rosé.
The menu features soft, fluffy pastries, baked fresh from the on-site Roccbox, and features e.g. A round rock, with nduja, manchego and rocket; and Putles Bridge with burrata, macerated tomatoes and basil. Small plates featuring locally sourced seasonal ingredients include Hawkhill Gochujang with charred hyspic cabbage, pickled red cabbage and sesame seeds; Norleywood – teriyaki pork skewers with pickles and fresh mint yogurt; and Setthornsmasala corn on the cob, spring onion, coriander and harissa mayonnaise.
The neighborhood bar is open from Wednesday to Sunday, and customers are welcome from Wednesday to Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and from Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Food is available from 12:00 to 17:30, walk-ins only.
