One of the biggest boy bands of the 2000s take over The O2 in London for two nights to celebrate their 21st birthday. McFly will perform two very special shows to mark the milestone, performing a selection of their greatest hits from the past two decades.

The band has secured number one hits with songs such as “5 Colors in Her Hair”, “Star Girl” and “All About You”, but has a wide discography spanning eight albums. McFly formed in 2002 after singer Tom Fletcher missed out on joining rival group Busted.

But soon ideas for a new band began to form and together with Danny Jones and Essex boys Harry Judd and Dougie Pointer, McFly was born. Now, 21 years later, the boys are ready to make some noise and celebrate their long careers in the music business with two nights at the O2.

McFly will perform two shows at The O2, on Wednesday (October 9) and Thursday (October 10). Tickets can be purchased from AXS or viagogo for both shows.

When do the doors open

According to The O2 website, doors for McFly will open at 6.30pm for both shows. There may be queues entering the venue so it is advisable to allow extra time before the performance to enter the venue or to find your seats.

Who supports McFly?

McFly are supported on Wednesday night by Billy Lockett, a singer-songwriter from Northampton. He describes himself as “a piano man” and has supported Lewis Capaldi, Lana Del Ray and Birdy.

It doesn’t look like there will be any support on Thursday night – keep an eye on McFly’s socials for any last minute announcements.

When will McFly perform?

Set list

McFly have promised a “very special show” for their The O2 dates, so it’s not set in stone exactly what they’ll be playing, or in what order. According to The O2 website, the band “are preparing to play all their hits and fan favorites from the past twenty-one years for a show not to be missed by any McFly fan”.

But from gigs McFly have put on recently, we can guarantee some big hits and some deeper cuts. In a performance in Manchester on 12 September, the show began with Where Did All the Guitars Go? and also included One for the Radio, Star Girl, Everybody Knows and All About You.

There was even a mashup of several iconic pop songs – so maybe The O2 might be lucky enough to get something brand new too.

Last minute tickets

Tickets for the two shows can still be purchased online from AXS and viagogo.
