McDonald’s has announced that the Breakfast Wrap is back after having to pull the popular item from sale just days after it was relaunched. Last month, McDonald’s announced that it would bring back the breakfast product that was phased out in 2020.
But this weekend, the chain was forced to remove the package from its menus across the country because the restaurant chain was concerned there was so much demand for it that they won’t have enough breakfast ingredients to fill the rest of their early morning menu.
A spokesperson said: “Due to unprecedented demand, McDonald’s has had to temporarily remove the breakfast dish from the menu to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items.”
They added: “McDonald’s most talked about food launch of 2024, The Breakfast Wrap, was on temporary hiatus over the weekend due to unprecedented demand. However, it will be officially back in restaurants on Tuesday 13th February!”
The wrap is now back on sale for £4.39 or £5.89 in a meal with a drink and hash brown.
The wrap contains almost all the ingredients found in other breakfast items – including two free-range eggs, a pork sausage patty, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato toast and cheese.
McDonald’s chose to bring back the wrap after claiming fans had asked for the wrap to make a comeback, saying there were 22 petitions to bring it back, as well as 5,000 direct messages sent to the company’s social media accounts.
