Marvel’s Rivals Season 1 brings new maps to the game, and they’re full of Marvel Easter Eggs.

NetEase Games Marvel’s Rivals has overtaken the gaming world as players dress up as their favorite heroes and villains and engage in rounds of multiplayer shooters.

Like other PvP shooters, the game brings new content through seasons. In Season 1, players must save New York from the blood-sucking Dracula (read more about the new Marvel’s Rivals season here).

This has included the introduction of new maps, including New York areas such as Midtown and the Sanctum Sanctorum.

All Easter Eggs in the New Marvel Rivals Maps

Dizzy

Daredevil is not a playable character yet Marvel’s Rivalsbut he is confirmed to exist in the game world. On the Midtown map, a billboard reading “Nelson & Murdock: The Lawyers. Fight Crime, Fearlessly” can be seen.

Nelson & Murdock is the name of the company Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) started with his partner Foggy Nelson.

Other characters from the Daredevil universe, such as the Punisher, are included Marvel’s Rivals list, so this easter egg could be a hint that the character will eventually be in the game.

Dazzler

Dazzler (a character long rumored to be Taylor Swift’s MCU debut) is hinted at in a new Marvel’s Rivals maps.

The Empire of Eternal Night Midtown Map shows a sign advertising a world tour by a singing superhero. It reads “Dazzler: Light the World. World Tour.”

In Marvel Comics, Dazzler (aka Alison Blaire) is a mutant with the ability to transform sound into light and energy beams, which she uses to enhance her musical performances.

Wong

The Sanctum Sanctorum would be nothing without its patron, Wong. New map in Marvel’s Rivals has been described as a refuge for those seeking to escape Dracula’s powers.

Just like the location of the comics, Marvel’s Rivals The developers have filled in the secrets of the Sanctum Sanctorum. A glimpse of Wong can be seen in one of the hallways of the Sanctum Sanctorum, where a portrait of the witch is proudly displayed on the wall.

Zelma Stanton

Another portrait included Marvel Rivals The Sanctum Sanctorum map appears to depict the cartoon character Zelma Stanton.

In the comics, Zelma came to Doctor Strange for treatment after being infected with Mind Maggots. After his recovery, the Sorceror Supreme offered him a position in the Sanctum Sanctorum as his librarian

Bats, Doctor Strange’s ghost dog

The portraits on the Sanctum Sanctorum map are full of easter eggs, one of which depicts the Sorcerer Supreme himself.

In the painting, Doctor Strange is holding an ethereal blue dog in his arms, which is likely a shout-out to the comic Book character’s Spectacular Dog. Strange’s dog named Bats is a basset hound that the wizard fell in love with translating barks into English.

Bats was a loyal companion to Strange, who at one point sacrificed himself to protect his owner from Loki. Bats was later resurrected as a ghost and continues to serve as Strange’s ghostly pet.

HERBIE

Fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Fantastic Four characters Marvel’s Rivals and the family’s robot friend HERBIE also makes his Season 1 debut.

The character is an ally of the Fantastic Four members and is shown for a moment, triggering a victory screen Marvel’s Rivals rounds.

Like other Marvel heroes, HERBIE’s portrayal Marvel’s Rivals differs from his design in the upcoming MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Van Dyne Design Studio

Marvel Rivals’ Midtown Map includes a shout out to Janet Van Dyne’s design studio, whose store is marked “Van Dyne’s” can be seen on the map.

In the comics, the studio is located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Van Dyne is owned by Janet Van Dyne, a fashion designer who helped design the Avengers uniforms and also married Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man).


Marvel’s Rivals Season 1 will be released on the 10th. January.
