Marks and Spencer’s fashion-savvy customers have been left frustrated after a pair of trousers on the retailer’s Instagram page proved a hit, leading to them being “sold out for weeks”. The video – which was posted last year – was showcased by M&S, with content creator and head of legal Thandi, showing the stylish brown crepe trousers paired with a chic ensemble that included a ribbed knit top, a casual tweed blazer, brown kitten heel boots and a coordinating cross -body bag.

The outfit received plenty of praise from followers, with one commenting: “Ladies and gentlemen, I was officially influenced today. Literally went out and bought these pants.” Another chimed in and praised the design: “Such a beautiful cut and style.”

However, the excitement was dampened by the fact that many shoppers were unable to get their hands on the coveted item. One disappointed customer said: “Love these trousers – hopefully they will be back in stock soon.” While another expressed her struggle: “The pants are out of stock and impossible to get! I’ve been trying to get hold of the creams for a few weeks now.”

Despite these complaints, there still seems to be a glimmer of hope for those looking for the pants at the time of writing, select sizes are still available. The Ecru color in particular has almost full stock, as does the green pair.

With a solid rating of 4.6 stars based on 1422 reviews, shoppers seem impressed. One reviewer praised the wide leg pants, saying: “Surprised at how good these pants are. Lovely thick material and a good fit for wide leg pants; they don’t float. They can be dressed up or down nicely.”

Another customer shared their approval, commenting: “Beautiful trousers, good quality material hangs beautifully, true to size but a little long in the leg so must have been altered but otherwise a great wardrobe item for the colder months would definitely recommend.”
