Marks and Spencer has announced a massive sale in which they’ve knocked 50 per cent off a wide range of items. Part of that sale is the Jersey Plisse Midaxi Skater Dress; originally £36, the dress is now down to £18. It’s currently marked as ‘in demand’ on the M&S site, with some sizes already sold out.
The dress comes in sizes six to 24, with petite, regular, and tall fits available. The jersey dress is made with plisse pleats and has a fitted shape. The fabric has extra stretch, and the hem falls to a midaxi length. There are long sleeves and a round neckline to complete the piece.
Alternatively, you can try the Long Sleeve Gathered Waist Maxi Dress, which is £39 at River Island. It comes in purple, beige, khaki, and stone.

Back at Marks and Spencer, their midaxi dress has 4.6 stars from 17 reviews. One person said: “Lovely dress. Great fit, very flattering. I’m 5ft 4in and chose the petite size which was the perfect length for me.”

The criticism focused mainly on the ‘small’ arm and neck holes. One disappointed customer wrote: “A beautiful dress, lovely material I couldn’t wait to try it on, it fitted lovely, but unfortunately it was so long and it was petite length I have had to return it, I’ve never known petite size being this long before, I think this is what should be addressed for us 5ft tall people.”
But another happy shopper wrote: “It’s a lovely dress with a flattering shape, good for smart or smart casual occasions. The material is soft and I like the colour. And thank you for providing size 10 in ‘petite’ as I find normal size 10 length is always too long for me.”
