Marissa George’s mother never liked her future son-in-law Ramses Prashad from the moment she met him. Love is blind season 7, and it looks like he was right about her all along. When Ramses and Marissa joined each other Love is blind pieces, their romance seemed perfect. Ramses had an incredible backstory. He worked in a non-profit organization which was intended to bring about legal reform in the United States. She was also raised in a religious background and was getting back into dating life after her failed marriage.

The Love is blind The cast of season 7 looked like one of the strongest couples off the set. However, the two separated just before walking down the aisle. Although shocking to most Love is blind fans, it wasn’t for Marissa’s mom, Vanessa. His interactions with Ramses were uncomfortable. He made some of the nastiest remarks and even threatened her. It sounded cruel at the time, but he probably was the only person who saw past Ramses’ nice guy facade. If Marissa had probably listened to her mother, she wouldn’t have waited until the finale to find out that Ramses wasn’t that into her.

Vanessa Went On Verbal Assassination

Love is blind season 7, episode 9 featured Vanessa meeting Ramses. Before this, Marissa had told her mother about Ramses and how comfortable she was in the relationship because it was different from her previous ones. Vanessa showed up at the meeting with her three other children. He began by insulting Ramses’ hair and stylelaughing at her hair and claiming she’s still stuck in the 80s. Her mother was rude and aggressive towards her, making Marissa feel uncomfortable.

Things got worse when Marissa insisted on going to the washroom. Vanessa continued to grill Ramses, asking about his job, insisting that Marissa’s potential salary was better than his. It must have been a terrible situation for Ramses, considering Marissa’s mother often hinted that she was with him for money. He required her to sign a prenuptial agreement before the two tied the knot. Vanessa also stated that the marriage wasn’t forever, which seemed to reflect on the couple. At one point, Vanessa threatened to cut off Ramses’ private parts if he hurt her daughter (via Love Is Blind Netflix).

Although Marissa never talked about how her mother’s opinion of her future husband made her feel, her energy was gone. Marissa agreed that his mother needed therapy, showing that he did not agree with everything he said to Ramses that day. Ramses’ interaction with Marissa’s family showed why getting to know a partner’s family is important before going deep with them, as it was a glaring red flag for his future relationship with Vanessa should they get married.

Ramses could have cheated on Marissa, but it was impossible to do the same to Vanessa. He could see something Marissa didn’t because she was blinded by love. Mothers have strong feelingsand she must have chosen a couple of things that made Ramses an unsuitable match for her daughter. He was a truth teller. Raising four children mostly on her own meant that she played both masculine and feminine roles in her family.

Therefore, since he only had several failed romances, he wanted the best for Marissa. At first she seemed vitriolic, but Ramses later showed his true colors when he refused to marry Marissa because of her energy. This indicated that Ramses could join Love is blind for the wrong reasons. Ramses took advantage of Marissa’s positive energy and bubbly personality only to get her five minutes of fame and the only person who got it was Vanessa.

The connection between Ramses and Marissa arose mainly from their shared emotional openness. As Love is blind the couple got engaged, vacationed and lived together, they learned more about each other. The couple decided their problems well and talked more about their differencesbring them closer. However, it wasn’t until a few days before the wedding that Ramses started to get cold. He said he made the rash decision, which came after the couple discussed their intimacy. Ramses was worried that Marissa was not affectionate enough, which would cause them problems in the future.

This Love is blind the actress feared that the lack of affection would damage their relationship. Marissa wasn’t feeling well and explained to Ramses that she couldn’t be intimate because of her PMS. Still, Ramses didn’t seem to mind and insisted that testing physical proximity was vital before you walk down the aisle. He didn’t care about her feelings and only thought about her needs after Marissa told him she wasn’t feeling well, which showed how self-absorbed he was.

Ramses said he wouldn’t mind them if he was around. This statement made him sound like he was doing Marissa a favor, despite the fact that he seemed like a modern day man with an open mind considering that taking care of children was a full time job and not part time as he made it sound.

Marissa was a perfect prey and it was hard to see Ramses draining the energy from her. She is intelligent, energetic, open-minded and adaptable, while Ramses only cares about what suits him. Hence Ramses claimed it wasn’t great to be a condom even though Marissa refused to take birth control. He also didn’t want her to get pregnant right away, but didn’t want to do his part.

There were a couple of inconsistencies in Ramses’ statements, particularly regarding gender roles and his views on relationships and marriage. It’s not that Ramses wanted toxic masculinity, but he never really wanted the responsibilities that come with being a family man. Ramses didn’t want to get into that situation where he was held to male gender stereotypesincluding providing for his family, but presented himself as a progressive man. He protected himself from criticism and logically justified his ideas about war and American imperialism as morally superior.

The Love is blind Participant’s holier-than-thou vibes as he pretended to consider Marissa’s wishes, especially during the birth control discussion, were tinged with mansplaining undertones. Rattail should have told Marissa all he needed to know when this Love is blind the couple met. Also, the fact that Ramses tried too hard to prove how progressive he was, but couldn’t hide his true colors for long, showed how much of a weapon of destruction he would have proved to be in Marissa’s life.
