Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London’s Knightsbridge has recently launched Lucho, a fine-dining restaurant showcasing the flavors of Chilean cuisine.

Executive Chef Francisco Hernandez emphasizes Chilean recipes passed down from his grandfather Luis, affectionately known as Lucho.

Lucho, the restaurant’s namesake, was known for regularly hosting gatherings of friends and family behind his grocery store in Chile. These evenings were characterized by homemade cuisine, board games and inventive cocktails.

Hernandez’s restaurant, inspired by this time-honored tradition, offers a menu that includes dishes such as palta cardenal, featuring avocado and shrimp, British seafood tiraditas, pastel de choclo made with corn, and Abuelo Luis’ favorite, pescado al horno.

Lucho takes over the hotel’s Rosebery afternoon tea suite from Thursday to Saturday evenings.

Rosebery runs its afternoon tea service outside of Lucho’s opening hours.

Lucho’s debut follows Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park’s recent introduction of Ukiyo Room, a private omakase experience that was announced just last month.
