: Why did you decide to apply for Married at First Sight?

Madison: I decided to apply
Married at first sight
because I was tired of the dating scene in Chicago. Apps are useless, and no one is serious about actual dating, at least in my experience. I wasn’t necessarily in a rush to get married, but I knew I was ready to find someone to be with and I hoped that
Married at first sight
could you help me.

Allen: I saw an opportunity to be involved
MAFS
same as matchmaking service. Just a lot more effort and intensity went into finding a genuine match. Experts are interested in using resources to find a genuinely compatible person.

: What surprised you the most about the MAFS interview/screening process? Did it meet your expectations?

Madison: I couldn’t believe how long the questionnaires were and how in-depth they really went. It honestly impressed me because it made me think that they really took everything into account when choosing the right people. I was even more surprised when Dr. Pia (Holec) asked me to draw a penis on paper during my interview with him… I didn’t see that coming!

Allen: There weren’t really any surprises during the process because I didn’t really have any idea how something like this would work. If I had to say anything, it would be the broad and deep questions they really ask, while touching on the more superficial ones like looks and such. The process and effort they put into me convinced me that they would do the same for my partner and strongly consider reasons for compatibility.

: What was the most important thing you were looking for in a partner?

Madison: I’m really looking for someone who is emotionally intelligent and has worked on themselves to know how to communicate and express their feelings. I feel that most problems can be solved with a simple conversation, but most relationships fail because of a lack of communication.

Allen: Someone with a genuine heart, considerate, loving, free-spirited and attractive is definitely a consideration and openness to be vulnerable with the goal of truly knowing each other as husband and wife.

: What three words would you use to describe your Married at First Sight experience?

Madison: Chaotic, beautiful and unexpected.

Allen: All-consuming, difficult and real.

: How has your view of MAFS changed since you’ve been a part of the program?

Madison: I really respect the past cast members who also joined this community and put themselves out there because it’s not easy by any means.

Allen: There isn’t.

: Is there anything you would change from the way you were looking for a partner before you were connected to MAFS?

Madison: I wish I had emphasized more the importance of lifestyle and general likes/dislikes when being matched with a partner.

Allen: Not really, maybe be a little more flexible about age and reinforce the importance of some deal breakers.

: What answer do you think led the experts to match you with your MAFS mate? Would you change the answer now?

Madison: I asked for someone who is emotionally intelligent, which is a big reason why I think experts are a good match for me as a partner. I wouldn’t change the answer now, but maybe I could go into more detail about what it means to me and how I want to see it in a partner.

Allen: I’m sure there wasn’t one answer that led me to come up with one. I think it was more my quirky and eclectic nature combined with a genuine intention to find something true.
