The two couples broke up before the finale’s first commercial break

Alex and Ani finally respected themselves enough to call it quits

The 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise the final episode got off to a depressing start as two couples didn’t even make it past their first scenes. Alex and Adriano continued their conversation from the previous episode regarding Adriano’s constant requests for threesomes. They dealt with the breakup on a scenic boat trip. However, the scenery couldn’t undo all the damage Alex and Adriano’s sexual incompatibility had done to their relationship.

The 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise Actor Alex admitted that he had been trying to make things work because of his desire for marriage and children. She finally admitted that she was not happy with Adriano. When Adriano realized that Alex had seriously called things off, he finally felt the pain of a breakup – something he had inflicted on Alex several times during their relationship. He was determined to get her back, but Alex saw through his actions. She knew he was just pretending to change to avoid losing. Alex ended the relationship for good and returned home.

Meanwhile, Kyle and Anita fared no better. Their relationship had been hanging in the balance over Kyle’s sperm donation. After spending the night together, Ani had a pregnancy scare, which made her realize she didn’t want to have a baby with Kyle. He referred to Kyle “Peter Pan who doesn’t know how to live a normal life.” In a shocking twist, Kyle accused Ani of getting her pregnant by her ex-boyfriend and tried to “fasten the baby” in Kyle. Ani was disgusted by the accusation and was relieved to end the relationship.

Shawn and Alliya are still on different pages about their future

Shawn is disingenuous in his support of Alliya’s transition

Shawn and Alliya were at one point the most promising couple of the season. Shawn started the season struggling to accept Alliya’s gender transition, but he came around and was able to let go of the person he had fallen in love with before. Shawn met Alliya’s family for the first time and proposed to her that night. Although their engagement seemed to set them on the right path, Alliya soon after revealed that Shawn refused to be monogamous. Shawn is hesitant to break things off with his other partner, citing his long relationship with Alliya.

Shawn later joined Alliya for a plastic surgeon consultation and had some concerns. He was afraid that he might not be so attracted to Alliya if the upcoming procedure made him look more feminine. Shawn’s reservations about Alliya’s surgery show that he’s not fully invested in their relationship. She knew he was going to continue his transition, but even though he proposed, she didn’t join him when he changed his appearance. Shawn and Alliya have little chance of a successful marriage because he is not fully supportive of her transition and she still doubts his fidelity.

Madelein is skeptical about Luke moving to Colombia

Luke promised to return soon, but he had misled Madelein in the past

He also heard rumors of Madeleine’s infidelity, which made him trust her less. Luke insulted Madelein by asking her to sign the marriage. They worked through their trust issues, and in the finale, Madelein agreed to sign off on the marriage. Luke then returned home to California and promised to return to Colombia soon for good.

However, Madelein, a potential influencer, revealed in her last interview that she didn’t think Luke would be moving to Colombia anytime soon. He had lied about his intention to move to Colombia in the past and was not convinced that he was financially stable enough to leave the United States permanently. Madelein said that if Luke didn’t come back soon, she wouldn’t sign off on the marriage, proving that their reconciliation was built on lies.

Although the futures 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise couples had seemed hopeful at times, by the end of the season it was obvious that neither of them had the capacity for healthy relationships. Divorced couples are at peace with their decisions. The problems that had threatened the relationships of the remaining couples are still very much present.
