Returning to North London by popular demand is headliner Nicki Minaj. The announcement comes after Megan Thee Stallion’s latest release, in which she apparently throws shade at the artist.
The singer chants: “These people ain’t mad at Megan, these people mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee you don’t want me to start”. Megan’s Law is a federal law that requires law enforcement agencies to make public information available to all registered sex offenders.
With this reference, the rapper is hinting at Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who in 2022 received a year of residency, three years of probation and a $55,000 fine for failing to register as a sex offender when the couple moved to California.
Prior to the song’s release, Megan and Nicki had been taking public photos of each other for years. They worked together on Hot Girl Summer 2019, but soon after unfollowed each other, leading fans to label them as rivals.
Nicki will return to her UK festival home, with a show on Friday 12th July. The songwriter, award winner and record breaker can be expected to perform some of her biggest hits, as well as songs from her latest chart-topping album Pink Friday 2 released late last year.
