After the Olympic Games and ahead of the Paralympic Games, the Central London Alliance in partnership with Blue Orchid Hospitality, British Volleyball Federation and Aldgate Connect BID are hosting a unique beach volleyball and sitting volleyball event.
On Thursday 22 August at The Crescent, opposite Tower Suites (a Blue Orchid Hotel), the City of London’s first ever outdoor beach volleyball court, members of the public are encouraged to emulate their beach volleyball Olympians and try sitting volleyball – a fast – High-energy, fast-paced sport which emphasizes teamwork, skill and adaptability, making it both accessible and exciting for participants and spectators.
Nadia Perrier, Director of Central London Alliance CIC commented: “Sitting volleyball embodies the spirit of inclusion and community that we strive to promote through our initiatives. We are delighted to partner with the British Volleyball Association and host this event, not only introducing an exciting sport to the public but also reinforcing the message that sport can be a unifying force for all, regardless of physical ability. We look forward to welcoming everyone to The Crescent for a day of fun, fitness and friendly competition.”
As part of the wider Sports Fest initiative, this event includes expert activators from the British Volleyball Association who will assist participants with technique and skill development. Whether you are an experienced athlete or a curious beginner, this is your chance to experience a new challenge and enjoy the lively atmosphere of team sports.
