Thousands of people were left disappointed when tickets for the last-ever run of Fleabag on stage, a one-woman show created by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, sold out within minutes in August 2019.

Finally, however, fans of the hit BBC television series, which began as an Edinburgh Fringe show in 2013, will be able to watch the critically acclaimed theatre production, directed by Vicky Jones, in the comfort of their own homes.

In partnership with National Theatre Live in London and Amazon Prime Video, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, DryWrite, Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre have joined together to make the show available for rent from today via Soho Theatre’s On Demand streaming site for £4.00.

From April 10, and for a further two weeks only, the performance of Fleabag will also be available on Amazon UK and US for £4.00, with the download lasting 48 hours.

All proceeds from the streaming will be distributed to charities including The National Emergencies Trust (NET), NHS Charities Together and Acting For Others, as well as the newly launched Fleabag Support Fund, which will distribute grants of £2500 to freelancers working in the UK theatre industry affected by the crisis and which has already been donated to by Phoebe Waller-Bridge herself.

Waller-Bridge said:

“I hope this filmed performance of FLEABAG can help raise money while providing a little theatrical entertainment in these isolated times. Thank you to all our partners and to the creative team who have waived their royalties from this production to raise money for such vital causes in this unbelievably challenging situation. All money raised will support the people throughout our society who are fighting for us on the frontlines and those financially devastated by the crisis, including those in the theatre community. Thank you in advance to those who donate. Now go get into bed with Fleabag! It’s for charity! Px”
