As if London needed another title to boost its reputation, the city can now add yet another accolade to its impressive list. In 2024, London was hailed as being the world’s most searched-for destination and the best city on the planet. On top of that, TripAdvisor gave London the title of the top European destination for 2024. And now, TripAdvisor has ever so kindly crowned London the best of the best in the world for 2025 – and yes, we will happily accept (again).

So, how did TripAdvisor reach this verdict? The travel platform assessed destinations worldwide based on the volume and quality of reviews for hotels, restaurants, and attractions over a 12 month period. Out of 8 million listings, only fewer than 1% actually achieve this milestone. In its prestigious Best of the Best category, London emerged as the number one destination in the world.

“From Shoreditch’s swaggering style to Camden’s punky vibe and chic Portobello RoadLondon is many worlds in one. The city’s energy means that no two days are the same,” said Tripadvisor, and we couldn’t agree more. There is something for everyone in the city – and no two areas are the same offering a diverse set of things to do, from exhibitions to museums to the cosiest cafes and some of the best restaurants in the world. London truly is a melting pot of culture and we’re so damn proud of it.

“Explore royal or historic sites, tick off landmarks from your bucket list, eat and drink in exclusive Michelin-starred restaurantsenjoy a pint in a traditional pub, or get lost down winding cobbled streets and see what you stumble across – when it comes to London, the possibilities are endless,” as true London experts (it is our job, after all), we at Secret London couldn’t agree more. We love sharing everything this incredible city has to offer – spoiler alert: it’s a hell of a lot!
