At the time of writing, we find ourselves on the eve of All Points Easta highlight of festival season in the city. Cleo Sol & SAULT and Chase and Status & Overmono are gearing up to play, but there remains a day of the weekend left afterwards. In years past, the Saturday has been reserved for Field Day, but with the annual dance bonanza moving to Brockwell Park, it leaves space for the free All Points East Sunday on weekend one of the festival.
Music fans will be able to dip into Victoria Park without paying the ticket charge that they would on other days. Roam through and catch a host of free sets, including the main draw of legendary DJ Pete Tong, who will headline the free affair on August 17.
Pete Tong will headline the East Stage to close proceedings, with DJ Yoda also performing a 50 Years Of Hip Hop set. Joining the pair on the lineup are The Cuban Brothers, Kengoand The Tamashii Drummers, with Spotlight also offering free youth creative programmes for those aged 11-19 taking place throughout the day.
Those strolling through the All Points East space on Sunday will also be able to enjoy more festival fun, including live theatre shows from Half Moon Presents, fitness sessions from Be Well and Limehouse Boxing Academy. There are also sessions from Rich Mix to showcase local musicians, as well as a kids disco, book swap, and performances from young locals.
Speaking on the news, Pete Tong said: “Really looking forward to bringing some Ibiza vibes to All Points East this Sunday. It’s a great chance to play these tracks in the heart of London and bring a selection of some of my favourite tunes to a festival crowd. See you there.”
Pete Tong will play a headline set at the free All Points East event on Sunday, August 17. You can attend the All Points East space for free on the day.
