Elena “Ellie” Dubaich was quite the polarizing yacht on Below deck, the Mediterranean Sea season 9, and there are signs that he’ll be back for season 10. He made her debut Below decks universe during the seventh season of the Mediterranean spin-off Replaces Kyle Viljoen. After appearing on the show for two episodes, Ellie was gone and was never heard from again until she joined the show’s original crew. Deck Med season 9. Instead of moving past their drama about a man they didn’t know, Ellie and Bri fought over him for most of Season 9.

Their drama intruded on the success of Aesha’s interior design department. Main Stew tried not to take sides and heard both women. However, Ellie and Bri let their personal feelings for each other affect their working relationship on several occasions. There was so much tension between them that Bri broke down in front of Captain Sandy due to their intense stress. It became clear that something had to change midway through the season, and the captain forced them to move out of their shared berths. As they got some space, things got better little by little.

Unfortunately, women sacrificed their friendships for a flirtatious executive. After Ellie and Bri’s beef was squashed, the other stew started arguing with Aesha after Carrie arrived. The main stew admitted that Carrie beat Ellie and Bri in their confessionals, but didn’t give the new stew a credit, hoping it wouldn’t hurt their feelings. However, Ellie got angry when Aesha called Carrie to work. Thinking his job was under threat, he selfishly took out his frustration with his performance as another stew to Aesha, who was waiting for the team to improve.

Despite letting the drama define her experience in Season 9, Ellie revealed that she wanted to become Chief Stew in the future. Throughout his time working with Aesha, another stew made it clear that he had dreams of moving up the ranks. Ellie took her position as second in command after Aesha incredibly seriouslygoing so far as to take out her personal frustrations on Brie at work. Unlike the other alums, he was incredibly vocal about one day becoming Chief Stew. Before he returned to the show, Ellie announced on Instagram in May 2023 that he was “I am officially retiring from my sailing career.” It’s unclear when Season 9 was filmed, but her Instagram post suggests she didn’t want to join the cast. Most of Ellie’s conflicts at the end of the charter season stemmed from her work relationship with Aesha. He felt hurt when they brought Carrie into the crew to help the interior department. Ellie didn’t know how much Aesha was struggling alone as head stew leader and thought that adding Carrie to the crew was pointless. However, he shouldn’t have commented on the passive-aggressive main stew when Carrie was called to help with the service. Ellie felt that her job as the second cook was being threatenedbut he should have invited Carrie’s presence to the crew.


When Ellie tried to confront Aesha about Carrie’s immediate enlistment, Head Stew shut her down. He told Ellie that he had decided to place the new stew where he wanted it. Ellie’s selfishness blinded her to the crew’s needs and led to her breakup with Aesha. However, it looks like she’s made a lot of progress since they finished filming. If Ellie were to return for season 10, it would be a great opportunity for her to mend fences with Aesha and learn from the mistakes she made during her time. Deck Med season 9

There are signs that Ellie is a producer factory as she tends to get involved in conflicts. Instead of following Aesha’s orders, the other stew took it upon himself to assert his dominance within the crew. He stepped out of line on several occasions and created unnecessary tension with the inner team. If Ellie wasn’t a producer, she might have been biting her tongue and listening to Aesha and Captain Sandy’s instructions all season. He also wasn’t fired for his bad behavior, further hinting that he may have been a production factory Deck Med season 9
