Chaos actress Misia Butler shared what she wants from Caeneus in a hypothetical second season of the recent Netflix series.
The show, which follows Greek mythology in an alternate modern day timeline, left season 1 with many future storytelling possibilities.
First, Aurora Perrineau’s Riddy finally left Killian Scott’s Orpheus after returning to the land of the living, leaving the door open for her love story with Caeneus to continue. Speaking of the former Amazon, she’s still in the underworld, having just discovered that she has the power to regenerate souls.

Will there be a season 2 of Kaos?
In an exclusive interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim, Chaos actress Misia Butler talked about the outlook for season 2 and what she hopes is still in store for her newly invented trans character Caeneus on the Netflix series.
Butler first clarifies that he is “I didn’t hear anything” about a possible season 2 that hasn’t been renewed yet:
“I haven’t heard anything. I’m as desperate as any fan. I’m kind of watching it as a fan too. I’m like all these stories. I need to know what’s going on.”
Although a Chaos A renewal for a second season is unfortunately not a sure thing, as there is a good chance that it will happen. Season 1 boasts a moderate 74% critic approval score and 82% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is good but not great for a Netflix series.
But by far the biggest factor that Netflix evaluates when determining whether to renew a series is its viewership, especially in the show’s first 30 days. Chaos premiered on August 29 and has ranked No. 8 or higher on the streamer’s US Top 10 TV series every day since its release (it reached No. 2 for three days in September).
To guarantee a Season 2 renewal, Chaos should stay in the Top 10 for the next few weeks. Otherwise, Netflix will closely evaluate global viewership trends to best determine whether a second season should be greenlit.
As for the upcoming possible season 2 of Butler’s Caeneus, the actor teases that “We can see a really big change in how he sees himself in this story arc” and how Butler hopes to see more “his heroism:”
“I think we’re going to see a really big change in how he sees himself in this story arc… We’re going to see that he’s not on the back foot all the time. He’s going to be in the front. And I really hope we’re just going to see a lot of his heroism at the forefront because it’s quite funny, I think, and it’s not a big, maybe Orpheus way, but just an explanation of his power. and the power we see him have.”
The season ended with Caeneus’ new love story, with Riddy coming to an abrupt halt as he was ushered back to the land of the living after being overtaken by Orpheus.
When asked about the pair’s future and whether they are doomed, Butler admitted that they are “too Greek to be a doomed tale:”
“I mean it. It would be very Greek if it was a doomed story, but I’d at least like to work with Aurora a little bit again.”
With Chaos’ Misia Butler, master of reinventing characters from Greek mythology, shared that she would like to see Atalanta adapted for the upcoming season:
“There are just too many that I’m obsessed with, so I have to narrow it down. One character I’ve always loved is because she’s such a badass. There’s this character called Atalanta, who’s the only female Argonaut. Jason’s Argonauts and her is doing his best in all their boar hunting. And it’s just a little funny, and so Charlie (Covell) could do something really funny.
As for where Caeneus himself is mentally when the Season 1 credits roll, Butler explains that he is “only clock” after everything that happened, albeit in a new way “resilience” which helps him forward:
“I think he’s just rolling. Honestly, there’s so much that he suddenly sinks into at the end of the season and meets all these new characters and is in a completely different situation and suddenly aware of a strength he never thought he had and an importance he didn’t never thought there would be, but I also think what she’s been through with Riddy has left her with that resilience, which I’d love to explore if we get a season 2.”
What could happen in season 2 of Kaos?
First, it would be wild if Riddy and Caeneus never interacted again, as many hope for a reunion. Chaos season 2
This could mean that Caeneus might visit the land of the living again. Although Riddy can regenerate souls, he may make another stop in the Underworld.
Then there’s Stephen Dillane’s Prometheus, now on his new throne after killing Charon in Season 1. Perhaps he’s trying to confront these important people he so subtly set up to defeat the gods.
However, Netflix has to renew the show to make it happen. Viewers are crossing their fingers that the announcement will come sooner or later.
