Janelle Brown’s harsh criticism of Kody and Robyn Brown’s parenting explained

Sister wives season 19 recently premiered, and Janelle Brown boldly criticized Robyn Brown for her parenting, even suggesting that it led to the family’s breakup. Over the years, the sister-wives have always avoided talking to each other as parents, but the gloves are off and nothing is off the table. Janelle was the second wife of polygamous patriarch Kody Brown. They were married for 29 years and had six children together until Janelle divorced Kody in 2022.

Janelle wasn’t the first wife to leave Kody, and she wasn’t the last either. The first wife to end the marriage was Christine Brown, and Meri Brown was the last wife to leave. A highly anticipated start Sister wives season 19 found Kody in surprisingly monogamous relationship with his fourth wifeRobyn Brown. At his peak, Kody had four wives and 18 children, and each wife had her own parenting style. Janelle recently overshadowed the parenting of fourth wife Robyn.

When Robyn married Kody in 2010, she had three children from her first marriage, all under the age of ten. In 2014, Kody legally divorced his first wife Meri so he could legally marry Robyn and adopt their children. Dayton, Aurora and Breanna eventually changed their last name from Jessop to Brown. Although Robyn’s children were somewhat accepted by the new family, they did not have the same experience with the Brown family as their other siblings.

As the youngest in the family Solomon and Ariella can barely remember a time when their family was together. On time early Sister wives in the season 19 episode, Janelle gave an on-camera interview in which she criticized the way Kody and Robyn were raising their youngest children. The episode begins with Kody explaining that when Sister wives the patriarch had four more wives, Ariella was amazed every time he went with his second wife. He showed tremendous separation anxiety, grabbed his leg and screamedwhich makes him feel guilty about leaving. Janelle accused Kody and Robyn of not properly preparing their children for the life of a polygamous child.
