After an intense first season, Netflix’s newest real estate reality show Selling The City ended with a dramatic final scene which saw agents Jade Chan and Abi Godfrey having a tough conversation that resulted in Jade storming away and threatening to sue Netflix. But did that actually happen? We’ve got all the details.

Selling The City landed on Netflix late last week and has quickly gone to the Top 10 on the streamer and straight to the top of our group chats. The eight-part series follows a group of agents in New York working at the Douglas Elliman brokerage. And much like its Los Angeles counterpart Selling Sunset, the new series is full of drama between the agents (and a few million dollar homes of course).

So what happened between Jade and Abi? And did Jade end up suing Netflix? Here’s what we know.

Wait, what happened with Jade and Abi?

Jade and Abi had a tough time throughout the first season of Selling The City and at the end of the season Abi wanted to address Jade’s comments about the others in the agency.

She tried to have a private word with Jade while at the bar, but Jade refused to talk with her. Abi then started talking out loud saying she had heard the things Jade had said about her and their colleagues and she wanted to moved forward in a “positive manner”.

Jade then tried to walk off set and tried to block the camera from filming her. Abi then accused Jade of being a “different person off camera” which Jade denied. Jade then added she did think Abi looked older than she was.

Abi then asked Jade if she had said: “All I know is you looked me in the eye and said, ‘I’m hanging out with Taylor. I’m putting my trust in you not to tell Eleonora this. I don’t want her up my ass.'”

Jade then left the room while saying, “If any of this f***ing airs, I’ll sue every single one of your asses.”

She was then seen speaking to production crew saying, “This is f***ing bulls***”.

As she was leaving she said: “This camera better get out of my f***ing face. I am not mic’d. I am done. I am not mic’d. F*** you, Netflix. F*** Netflix. F*** everybody.”

So did Jade end up suing Netflix?

No she did not. Speaking exclusively to US Weekly, Jade said: “No, I am not taking legal action. I [actually want to] thank the producers for their beautiful way of still telling that story and still showcasing the spiciness that was there in that heated moment.”

She added there was more that occurred in the scene but it wasn’t all shown, to which she was happy with.

“They were very respectful in knowing what was right and wrong in regards to [what to include],” she explained. “Because there was much more to that scene than just the one minute that is shown. So I appreciate and respect them for that matter.

“That’s really where those comments from me were coming from. Because there were below-the-belt things said from both sides — from Abigail [Godfrey] and myself — that I would never want to be shown across the entire world.”

Ok, we’re going to need a season two of Selling The City asap to see how things develop between Abi and Jade.
