If you’ve never played the game, falling in love with the show and feeling very invited is going to be huge.”
As Sanders discussed the plot “the first season and for the series” it seems that Amazon is already expecting a multi-season arc god of war.
It is unclear whether the series continues the Greek or Norse era god of war, which have been explored during the long-running game series. But since more recent releases opted for a Norse angle with Thor, Odin, and Loki, that may be a more likely direction for Amazon.
Amazon’s last video game adaptation, Dropthe series was announced in July 2020 and released in April 2024. As god of war It didn’t get the official green light until December 2022, fans might be waiting for its release.
With no sign of production starting anytime soon and no news on the casting of the main roles, it would be surprising to see it released anytime before the end of 2027.
