Since the announcement of its London visit, anticipation for the arrival of the Art of the Brick exhibition has been building – much like a LEGO® tower. Well, the wait is almost over, as the exhibit will open to Londoners next week (March 6) on the rather aptly named, famed Brick Lane. This mind-blowing exhibition of over 150 works of LEGO® artworks is ready to astound young and old alike with a moving sculpture, a 20-foot-tall masterpiece, and reimagined versions of iconic art.

What can you expect to see at this LEGO® exhibition in London?

Art of the Brick features artworks created by corporate-lawyer-turned-contemporary-artist Nathan Sawaya, who, all together, has used over one million LEGO® bricks at this exhibition. Some of his sculptures reimagine the world’s most famous artworks: expect to see the likes of Michelangelo’s David, Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa built out of LEGO®. The patience and commitment it must take to create these pieces blows my mind!

Although Art of the Brick has appeared in over 100 countries already – Sydney to Shanghai, Miami to Milan – London will be just the second city to exhibit the marvellous kinetic skull installation. This impressive piece comprises over 250 moving LEGO® skulls that use light and sound to appear endless. Another even more astounding sculpture is the 20-foot dinosaur skeleton, again, made purely out of LEGO® bricks.

If you’re inspired after exploring the exhibition, you’ll have the chance to put your creativity to the test at the LEGO® blocks area. What will you create? Get your Art of the Brick tickets and have a go yourself.
