Summary

  • Katy Perry’s exit from American Idol could lead to a complete overhaul of the judging panel, and the futures of Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan are uncertain.
  • Disney is being tight-lipped about the decision to replace Katy, potentially leaving Lionel and Luke out of the process.
  • If a male judge is chosen, it may be necessary to replace one or both male judges, as an all-male panel is unlikely.

The amazing Abi Carter won American Idol season 22 but I worry that her win could mark the end of an era for ABC’s version of the reality singing competition series, if Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan are also being replaced after Katy Perry’s exit.. Lionel, Katy and Luke were the original judges when Disney-owned ABC was revived American Idol in 2018, after FOX canceled the beloved show in 2016. Together, they judged seven seasons and discovered some of the most successful artists from the show’s ABC era, including Gabby Barrett, Benson Boone, Chayce Beckham and HunterGirl.

However, before American Idol season 22 premiere, Katy announced that she was leaving to focus on her own music. Since then, there have been many suggestions as to who should take his place, including exes American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Adele and season 22 mentors Jelly Roll and Jon Bon Jovi. In addition, American Idol Alums Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Jordin Sparks have been mentioned. However, now Luke has made some comments that have me wondering if it is possible size American Idol the season 23 jury may change.

Luke Bryan reveals he and Lionel Richie don’t know if they’ll return to American Idol

Disney has been “tight-lipped” about the decision on who will replace Katy

In an interview with Billboardwhen asked about Katy’s change, Luke said: “It’s been interesting.” He explained, “Disney (has) been really strict with me and Lionel and Ryan (Seacrest).” Luke then said something troubling that wasWe haven’t heard at this point what the story is about who’s coming back and if Lionel and I are coming back. I think Disney is just trying to figure out what they want to do and we’re just going to sit back and wait until they make a decision.”

“We haven’t heard at the moment what the story is about who’s coming back and if Lionel and I are coming back.”

I am concerned that Lionel and Luke seem to be closed off on the decision of who will replace Katy. American Idol season 23 jury. While it makes sense that the network has a big say in that, Lionel and Luke are superstars who deserve respect when they get to decide who joins them. However, I think it’s possible that Disney will leave them out of the negotiations, as the producers may also be planning to replace them.

Luke & Lionel can be replaced if Katy’s American Idol successor is male

American Idol shouldn’t have a male judging panel

While I think Katy is irreplaceable, someone has to come in and take her place American Idol judge’s table. His Billboard In the interview, Luke gushed about Katy, saying, “Katy was really perfect for the job, and I think they’re just working hard to find someone who can really come in and do the job that Katy did.” While it would make sense for the network to choose a young female pop star with a big personality to fill the void left by Katy, the show could decide to go in a different direction.

If new American Idol The referee is male, like Jelly Roll or Jon Bon Jovi, so, as much as it bothers me to say, Luke or Lionel or both need to be replaced as well. The show doesn’t work with three male judges because it needs a female voice on the panel. Katy was an advocate and inspiration for the show’s female performers, and her successors must be offered the same support.

The same problem can occur if American Idol decides to choose a judge who belongs to the same musical genre as Lionel or Luke. Lionel represents the R&B/soul genre, while Luke is a country artist, so if another judge from either category is added to the show, one of them may need to be replaced. However, the show wouldn’t be the same without them.

Meghan Trainor Would Make The Perfect American Idol Judge (But Does She Have What It Takes?)

Meghan Trainor wants to be the next American Idol judge alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. Can she fill the void left by Katy Perry?

Luke and Lionel clearly love being together American Idol judiciary. I love seeing their contagious excitement when they discover an artist of exceptional talent. I find it so heartwarming to see them rooting for the contestants after their performances and guiding them when needed. It’s also so inspiring to see them perform with the finalists during the season finale, knowing that they welcome them into the music industry with open arms.

If American Idol Season 23 welcomes an all-new jury, marking the end of an era for the ABC version of the series. I think Katy leaving the show is a hard enough adjustment and American Idol needs Lionel and Luke on the jury in season 23. I firmly believe it would be a mistake to replace them as well.

American Idol

American Idol is a reality singing competition that complements the international “Idol” brand, which was originally conceived in the UK as Pop Idol. American Idol held massive auditions across the United States and invited several contestants to appear in front of a panel of judges who decided whether they would advance to future rounds for a chance to compete in the show’s fully televised premiere. The contestants would be voted on weekly by the American people by voting through various media, and the winner of the contest would be awarded a record deal to secure a future as America’s next musical idol.
