Taylor Swift is back in London for a five-date Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium. Enthusiastic crowds began gathering outside the arena early for the first show yesterday (August 15), hoping to be the first through the doors when they opened at 4pm.

Fans often get there early so they can exchange friendship bracelets, compare outfits and get to know other dedicated Swifties in line. One such fan is Gabriela Padilla, who had been queuing since 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, because she said it’s a great place to make “amazing memories.”

A group of students – Reeba, Imogene, Ellie and Carrie – had been up since the early hours of the morning. Carrie said: “I was up at seven in anticipation. We are so excited for the concert.”

Ellie added: “I’m also so excited about the atmosphere and all the girls, everyone’s going to be there, it’s like a girl. When you go to a club you don’t feel very safe, but I feel like this is going to be supportive and safe.”

The previous leg of Taylor’s Eras Tour in Austria was canceled due to a suspected terrorist plot. Wembley have since confirmed that they have increased security and are urging fans without tickets to stay away from football grounds.

Regarding security, Reeba said: “When the news came out we were all very nervous but seeing the extra security measures that have been put in place makes us feel better, there have been loads of accounts on X and TikTok saying what’s the safest way to there is.”
