Heartache high Season 2 features an unexpected rivalry between Rowan and Amerie.
Netflix’s Australian teen drama mostly centers around Amerie (Ayesha Madon) as she navigates the ups and downs of her time at Hartley High.
As the leader of SLT (The Sexual Literacy Tutorial Class), things take a big turn when Amerie reunites with her childhood friend Rowan (Sam Rechner).

Rowan’s hatred of Amerie explained in Heartbreak High
Amerie was Rowan’s “one who got away” because he had been in love with her since he was twelve years old.
However, Rowan had a deep hatred for Amerie because she blamed him for the death of her little brother Jett in an unfortunate chain of events.
Revenge drove Rowan as he made it his mission to ruin Amerie’s life, leading to the revelation that he was Hartley High’s Bird Psycho.
To make matters worse, Amerie declared her love for Malakai (Thomas Weatherall) in front of everyone, further hurting Rowan’s feelings.
Rowan’s revenge plot was revealed Heartache high Season 2, Episode 8, when he trapped Amerie and Harper in the AV Club room to show them a video of his backstory showing clips of their childhood and the ups and downs of their friendship due to Jett’s death.
Rowan’s anger reinforced the idea that anyone can go rogue and do crazy things to fulfill their revenge, even if it means hurting innocent people (eg Harper).
What was unique about Rowan’s revenge tour was that he also had feelings for Amerie, showing how twisted his mind is.
Did Rowan forgive Amerie in Heartbreak High Season 2?
The confrontation between Rowan and Amerie in the AV Club room was tense.
However, when Amerie apologized to Rowan, it triggered him when he didn’t say sorry for his brother’s death (understandably, it wasn’t his fault).
As Rowan breaks down, Quinni rushes in to save Harper and Amerie from the burning room.
The fact that Amerie also saved Rowan at the last minute proved that he is not the evil monster he was trying to get revenge on.
