The surrounding expectation Ginny & Georgia Season 3 is even higher thanks to a new update.
In February 2024, a report by Deadline stated that season 3 of the comedy-drama series would not be released on Netflix until sometime in 2025, meaning that there would be two years between the release of season 2 and the debut of season 3.
A social media post from USA Production then stated that filming for season 3 would begin in April 2024 in Toronto.

When is Ginny & Georgia Season 3 coming out?
In April 2024, Netflix (via a post from X, formerly Twitter) confirmed the production Ginny & Georgia Season 3 had started in Toronto, Canada.
The post included snippets of a Season 3 table read with the cast, led by stars Brianna Howey and Antonia Gentry.
A month before confirmation, a post about the audition “Season 3 Callbacks” appeared on Facebook, which aligned with the upcoming season’s production schedule.
Filming of the first season began in August 2019 and ended in December 2019. Ginny & GeorgiaThe debut season was released on Netflix on February 24, 2021. This delay was mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the streamer’s release schedule.
Season 2 was a different story. It began filming in late November 2021 and concluded in April 2022. The show’s sophomore episode premiered on January 5, 2023, nine months after the release of the second season.
Assuming Season 3 has a similar production timeline to Season 2, filming could end in September or October 2024.
If Season 3 follows a similar release schedule, it’s reasonable to assume that the series could premiere in the summer of 2025, possibly around May or June.
However, some factors may cause it to be delayed, such as finding a suitable release schedule for the series; in 2025 there are already major releases such as Strange things season 5 and One piece Season 2.
What will Ginny & Georgia season 3 be about?
Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert told TUDUM in April 2024 that Season 3 is full “new obstacles, new relationships and new challenges” to the titular protagonists, hinting that a much more complex story is at play.
Lampert also pointed this out “The world has never gotten as hard (for Ginny and Georgia) as it will in Season 3.” teasing that the couple will face perhaps their biggest challenge even if they’re apart:
“It’s always been Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia against the world, but the world has never come as hard for them as it will in Season 3. We’re excited to finally begin production and bring our fans their characters. love.”
The second season finale had a major bombshell after Georgia was arrested for killing Cynthia’s husband Tom during the wedding. There’s a good chance Georgia’s unusual prison setting will be featured more in Season 3.
As for Ginny, she must decide whether Max is still worthy of her love despite the peaceful but complicated breakup between the pair at the end of season two.
Ginny may also find a new romantic interest that may change her dynamic with Max forever.
Elsewhere, Ginny must learn the truth about Georgia’s past while helping her brother Austin navigate the current changes in the family.
