When you think about getting that perfect holiday shot, your mind probably doesn’t immediately swing to the airport – though it will be the place that enables you to reach the destination for the capture.

Camera rolls do come with a lot of space these days, though, so it’s no wonder that many people are still filling up their phone galleries with pre-holiday snaps or sad faces as they return home. If you’ve ever wondered where the best airports in the world are to do just that, we now have a study to refer to.

Travel website Miss Tourist have crunched the numbers to determine which airports are the ‘most instagrammable’ in the entire world, and an airport in London is right up there!

London Heathrow has swooped in to nab the third spotcoming in just behind Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport at places #1 and #2, respectively. This makes our city’s biggest flight hub the most Instagtammable airport in the whole of Europe, with Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and fellow big smoke counterpart London Gatwick also appearing in the list’s top 10.

Heathrow Airport secured third spot with 762,904 Instagram hashtags, pipping Kuala Lumpur International Airport to the post, who came in with 600,336 tags. Los Angeles really won the crowd here, though, with an eye-watering 3,393,690 tags meaning it had three times as many as San Francisco in the second spot at 1,047, 624.
