<span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Halloween has long been an excuse to feast on sweets. But if you’ve passed the age where trick-or-treating is acceptable, fear not: you can get your sugar fix elsewhere. Many of London’s bakeries have added themed specials to their menus, from pumpkin spiced doughnuts to spider-adorned cupcakes and much more. These are the best Halloween desserts to try in London for 2024.

London Bakeries Offering Halloween Treats

Donutelier’s Halloween Doughnuts

Covent Garden bakery Donutelier has garnered a reputation for its seasonal doughnuts, so of course the bakery has whipped up something special for Halloween. There are three to choose from: the Vanilla Cookie Scream, which features Oreo crumble with a vanilla ganache filling, the Frighty di Bisco, with a frutti di bosco filling and raspberry filled almond sable, and the orange Pumpkin Cackle Crumble, made with pumpkin-cinnamon mascarpone ganache.

Available 27 November – 2 November 2024, £6.50 each, donutelier.co.uk

Cutter & Squidge’s Halloween Treat Brownies

All-natural bakery Cutter & Squidge is renowned for its beautifully crafted goodies – particularly its signature biskies (a delicious cross between a cake and a cookie). But this October, it’s the Halloween Treat Brownie Box that we’ve got our eyes on, featuring two flavours: Mummy Brownies and Blood Spatter, both made with classic Belgian chocolate but with different spooktacular toppings.

From £21.99, cutterandsquige.com

GAIL’s Skeleton Biscuits

Next time you pop into GAIL’s for a coffee, have a break from the cinnamon buns and opt instead for some skeleton biscuits. Hand-iced in the bakery, and seasoned with mixed spice and cinnamon, they’re the perfect little Halloween treat.

£3 each, gails.com

The Hummingbird Bakery’s Cupcakes

American-style bakery Hummingbird always delivers on its cupcakes, and the Halloween specials look particularly tasty. Treat your family or friends to the Halloween Cupcake Selection Box, which sees classic flavours like red velvet and vanilla topped with suitably spooky icing creations (think spiders, witches and ghosts). Alternatively, go big with the Spooky Spider Web Cake, an impressive orange number which would work perfectly for a Halloween dinner party.

Selection box is £24 for six cupcakes, Spooky Spider Web Cake is £28, hummingbirdbakery.com

Floozie Cookies’ Frankenshake

Who says vegans can’t get involved with the Halloween dessert fun? Plant-based cookie shop Floozie Cookies in Covent Garden is jazzing up its menu with a limited-edition ‘Frankenshake’ this October. Styled to resemble Frankenstein, the decadent dish sees a green pistachio affogato accompanied by a purple whipped cream topping.

Available throughout October, flooziecookies.com

Available across all branches, offerings include the Monster Whip, a marzipan base topped with blackcurrant marshmallow and decorated with candy eyes, and the Spooky Spider Social, a braided sweet dough filled with cinnamon paste and topped with web icing.
