GTA 6‘s trailer 2 has officially broken a record that will almost certainly make die-hard fans scream.
After more than a decade of waiting Grand Theft Auto VI it’s supposed to finally see the light of day sometime in 2025. This comes after the game’s debut trailer hit YouTube in early December 2023, sparking debate about when and where fans will see the game again before launch.
Since then, gamers around the world have been searching for the game’s long-awaited second trailer, and many fan theories have taken over the web. Each subsequent week it looks different GTA 6 trailer 2 prophecy has taken over; however, all (including the supposed December 2024 leak) have been proven false.
GTA 6 Trailer 2 broke Rockstar’s record
After more than a year of waiting GTA 6 trailer 2, the upcoming second look at the game has broken the record of disappointment for Rockstar Games.
From 17.12.2024 GTA 6 broke the record for the longest wait between the first trailer and the second trailer ever for a Rockstar Games game.
On 379 days, it took the top spot and overtook the previous record holder, Grand Theft Auto V378 days passed between the first and second viewings.
Original GTA 6 the trailer appeared on YouTube on December 4, 2023, breaking Rockstar’s records long before it even hit the web. As of this writing, 389 days have passed GTA 6 the debut trailer was released and there seems to be no end in sight.
Recent reports prove it GTA 6 may deviate from the long-confirmed release date of 2025, meaning fans may have to wait even longer to get another look at the next-gen open world.
By comparison, Rockstar’s shortest gap between the first and second trailers in recent memory came along GTA 4which lasted only 91 days.
Another major open world franchise from Rockstar, Red Dead Redemptionhas also taken his time to debut new material, but both Red Dead and Red Dead 2 didn’t last nearly as long as Grand Theft Auto VI take a new promotion point.

Why is GTA 6 Trailer 2 taking so long?
Over 380 days since fans got their first look GTA 6fans are anxious to know what will happen in the hotly anticipated trailer 2.
Some had speculated that the game would receive another marketing push at the end of 2024, but that never materialized. Even mention of the title possibly appearing at Geoff Keighley’s annual Game Awards ceremony was floating around before the event; however, they also proved to be wishful thinking.
It sure looks like Rockstar Games is in no rush until they show off the game next. It has already been waiting for the record GTA 6 (means the longest interval GTA titles after more than a decade), so what’s waiting for another few weeks or months to get another glimpse of the long-awaited title?
While fans have been trying to figure out when another sneak peek might be available, nothing has proven successful.
Rockstar has proven that it really does march to the beat of its own drum when it comes to marketing (and releasing) its biggest titles, knowing that there’s demand whenever it feels ready to release news.
The word is GTA 6 may still come in 2025 (or early 2026), which means the clock is ticking for the studio to begin the title’s promotional cycle in earnest. Whether it’s released in 2025 or not, another look at the game is expected to arrive in the coming months.
Simply put, Rockstar is running out of time to get a new trailer, but still be able to pull off the rest of a massive marketing campaign as big as GTA 6 guarantees.
This means that GTA 6 Trailer 2 will very likely come in early 2025 and reboot it GTA marketing machine, but still allows enough time for some important news before the release.
