The Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer admitted that he was shocked by Joan’s lack of confidence after the hometown datewhich came after saying goodbye to Mark Anderson a week earlier. Joan chose Chock Chapple, Guy Gansert, Pascal Ibgui and Jordan Heller for her The Golden Bachelor on hometown dates, all of which were successful. However, Joan confessed to Jesse that she feels less confident about her connections with Jordan and Pascal after the hometown date than before. He sent Jordan home, meaning Chock, Guy, and Pascal are his final three.

Golden Bachelorette host Jesse Palmer said he was “very surprised” when Joan Vassos told him that after her hometown date with Pascal Ibgui and Jordan Heller, she felt less confident about her connections than before the date.

In an interview with EW, Jesse said he was “very surprised” when Joan told him that after her hometown date with Pascal and Jordan, she felt less confident about her relationships than before the date. He said, “I was very surprised, as hometowns usually provide more clarity and answers needed to advance relationships. We’re used to seeing connections grow by leaps and bounds after a hometown date.”

I was very surprised because hometowns usually give you more clarity and answers that you need to advance relationships. We’re used to seeing connections grow by leaps and bounds after a hometown date.

What Jesse Palmer’s shock at Joan’s lack of clarity means

Jesse has a lot of Bachelor Nation experience

Between being a star Bachelor season 5, and becomes the host Bachelor franchise shows in 2022, Jesse has plenty of hometown dating experience. He’s seen many leads run through the process, so his shock at Joan’s ambiguity about Pascal after the hometown date is important. It shows that Joan may not have a strong connection with Pascalwhich could mean they are headed for a breakup in the coming weeks.

Our take on Joan Vassos doubts after hometown date

Joan knows in her heart what she really wants

If Joan is still unsure about Pascal, so be it maybe it’s time for her to say goodbye to himlike he did with Jordan. If she doesn’t feel confident about the relationship, she should trust her gut and let him go. Joan has told Pascal more than once that she wasn’t sure he was really into her because she’s taken more of a back seat on group dates.

Joan shouldn’t try to force something on Pascal that isn’t there, just like she did then he said goodbye to pioneer Mark. He felt he wasn’t ready for a relationship yet after the death of his wife Denise. While Joan could relate to her pain, having lost her husband of 32 years, John, to pancreatic cancer in 2021, she felt that Mark was not in the same place she was in her grief journey.

Joan should shift her attention away from Pascal and he should give all his attention to Guy and Chock. They’ve both expressed that they’re crazy about her, especially Chock, so she should put her energy into relationships where she can feel like she’s going in the right direction. Hopefully Joan makes the right decision so that Jesse doesn’t have to host another episode of what he considers the most dramatic episode in franchise history.
