There’s been a lot of development at Elephant Park in Elephant & Castle over the last few years and the new openings just keep coming – Rarebit, founded Mark Angell and Will Nias, is the latest place to set up shop in the area. The 55 cover (plus 16 on the terrace) all-day kitchen, bar and grocery store will be headed up by chef Liv Lionel (who’s been cooking at Brighton spots The Prince George and Lazy Fin), who’ll be cooking a modern British menu, including the namesake rarebit.

There’ll also be a focus on quality local produce, so you can expect coffee from Climpson & Sons, baked goods from Flor, fruit & veg from Natoora, cheese from Neal’s Yard Dairy, rare breed meat from The Butchery and London Smoke & Cure, and beer from London Beer Factory. If you don’t fancy a pint, the grocery store will stock an extensive wine selection, which you can buy to take home or drink in for a small corkage fee, and classic cocktails will be available from the bar too.
