Each season in Italy has its own pleasures when it comes to dining. However, autumn is perhaps one of the finest in the country, because since September, plenty of beautiful raw materials have been collected.

From north to south, Italian chef Gino D’Acampo has traveled to many regions of the country to source the finest Italian and British produce, with olives, wild mushrooms, pumpkin, mussels and wild boar just some of the incredible ingredients. pride in his new seasonal menu.

Now available at his restaurant on Boar Lane, it’s full of hearty authentic Italian dishes, perfect for the cooler temperatures and long indulgent evenings as the evening draws in.

Leading the list of new seasonal dishes and a favorite across Italy is Ribollita (£9.95), a traditional Tuscan and vegetarian bean soup that is bursting with flavour. Served with toasted ciabatta, it’s a comforting appetizer, or for those short on time, a quick delicious bite of your own.

Although mussels are available year-round, there is no better time to introduce mussels to the menu than fall/winter, when shellfish are in peak season and can be enjoyed with a higher meat content. Guests can enjoy them in all their glory at the leading Italian chef’s Leeds restaurant with Gino’s Cozze Con Crema E Vino Blanco (£13.50) – mussels cooked in white wine, garlic and cream. Served with plenty of crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce, it’s a standout dish and lovely to enjoy with a glass of white wine.
