Hockley Social Club’s major new art and music offering ‘opens up’ the UK public to cultural experiences and acclaimed food and drink in the heart of the newly refurbished space.

The popular Birmingham night time event, on a 10,000 square meter site of a former industrial printing factory in Hockley’s historic manufacturing area, will be celebrating its fourth year with a rich line-up of academics, arts organisations, comedians, DJs, musicians and speakers.

The city’s famous Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) performs to sold-out audiences in the 900-seat hall, which also has a stylishly renovated performance and event space, the 150-seat Artum.

Hockley Social Club has curated the 2024 programme, which will enable lovers of diverse cultural experiences to access world-class art and music at affordable prices to help tackle the current cost of living crisis.

The two-month event follows hot performances, performances and talks from talented individuals such as Carl Chinn, Birmingham City Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet Presents Black Sabbath, Jay Blades and collaboration with We Out Here Festival, as well as releases from industry initiatives including Birmingham Live Music Project and Safe Queen.

As well as hosting debuts, live shows and exclusive sets from some of the UK’s hottest new electronic music producers, DJs, promoters and collectives, Hockley Social Club also offers award-winning food from the UK’s best street food vendors including residencies. From MasterChef Professionals Dan Lee (Dai Pai Dong) and acclaimed Birmingham fried chicken maker Greidys.

Featuring an outdoor covered terrace, three bars, four kitchens and a café, the complex will also showcase independent lifestyle markets and NTE industry events, securing its place as the new epicenter of Birmingham’s vibrant arts, culture, food and drink scene. .

Drawing on the experience of organizing thousands of events across Birmingham and the Midlands over 12 years through the prestigious Digbeth Dining Club brand, the large venue employs 80 staff.

Hockley Social Club manager Jack Brabant said: “With all the rooms refurbished in January we are better prepared this year than ever before.

“Whether it’s a partnership with Birmingham Royal Ballet, monthly comedy nights, jazz, live music two nights a week or talks at Aston University – our program of events has brought together some of the city’s biggest and most respected brands to create something truly special.
