Jermyn Street Theatre has announced full casting for Flora Wilson Brown’s new adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s The Waveswhich opens this April.
The production, directed by Júlia Levai, features Archie Backhouse as Louis, Breffni Holahan as Susan, Pedro Leandro as Neville, Syakira Moeladi as Jinny, Tom Varey as Bernard, and Ria Zmitrowicz as Rhoda.
Running from 16 April to 23 May, with press night on 21 April, the coming-of-age story follows six friends from childhood into adulthood as they navigate love, grief and the ever-shifting tides of life.
 
 
 
 
Flora Wilson Brown said, “I am so excited to work with this incredible group of artists on bringing Woolf’s masterpiece to Jermyn Street. I’ve loved the book for so long and to have the chance to work on our own version is a dream.”
Júlia Levai added, “Flora’s gorgeous adaptation captures the experience of being alive in the most playful and moving way. I am beyond thrilled to be bringing it to life with such a fantastic group of actors and creatives.”
Adapted from Woolf’s landmark modernist novel, The Waves promises a tender and thrilling exploration of friendship and identity, brought to the stage by Brown and Levai, two major new creative talents.
The creative team includes Set Designer Tomás Palmer, Costume Designer Anett Black, Lighting Designer Lucía Sánchez Roldán, Composer and Sound Designer Joseff Harris, Movement Director Ken Nakajima and Casting Director Jatinder Chera.
